Our Sustainability Work – Production, Social Responsibility and Environment
At Classic Collection, sustainability is at the core of everything we do. By focusing on production, social responsibility, and the environment, we create products that not only offer high quality but also contribute to a better future for both people and the planet.
We work to reduce our climate impact by choosing natural and recycled materials in our products. Many of our rugs are made largely from wool, a natural and renewable resource. Wool is biodegradable and does not leave harmful residues in the environment. Its durability and resilience ensure a long product lifespan, contributing to reduced consumption.
Our manual weaving process is energy-efficient and gentle on the environment, further supporting sustainable production. All our rugs are handwoven, meaning the manufacturing process takes place entirely without the use of electric looms.
Classic Collection is committed to ensuring that our products are safe and environmentally responsible. We carefully comply with the EU REACH Regulation, which aims to protect human health and the environment by ensuring the safe use of chemicals. Our materials are carefully selected to meet these standards, and we continuously strive to minimize the use of harmful substances in our production.
Several of our throws are made from materials certified according to OEKO-TEX® Standard 100. This certification means that the materials have been tested for over 1,000 potentially harmful substances, ensuring they meet strict limit values and are safe for both people and the environment.

It also means that your purchase supports programs that provide children with access to education and improve working conditions for adults in producer communities.

Our packaging is an important part of our circular journey. Through our collaboration with Näringslivets Producentansvar (NPA), we ensure that it is recycled and given new life.
For us, it is important that nothing is discarded unnecessarily. Products that are returned due to claims or damaged during transport are carefully handled through a thorough process where they are cleaned, repaired, and sold as second-grade items. In this way, we extend the lifespan of our products and ensure they continue to create value instead of becoming waste.
We also encourage our customers to wash and repair their rugs whenever possible before choosing to replace them — a simple way to prolong their lifespan while reducing environmental impact.
Our office and warehouse operate with energy-efficient solutions to reduce our climate impact.
