Which material should you choose for your throw?

The choice between a wool throw and a cotton throw primarily comes down to feel, warmth, and care.

Wool has naturally warming properties and is well-suited when you are looking for a throw with a distinct material feel. Several of our wool throws are made from New Zealand wool and feature woven textures, patterns, and fringes. The assortment includes both throws made of 100% wool and models made from a wool blend. Cotton provides a soft and supple throw that is comfortable against the skin and easy to use all year round. Our cotton throws are available in both knitted and woven qualities, and several models can be machine washed according to the product's washing instructions. Explore our cotton throws.

What sizes are available for throws?

Our throws are primarily available in sizes 130x170 cm and 130x180 cm.

A throw measuring 130x170 cm is a practical size for the sofa or armchair and is large enough to wrap yourself in. This size also works well as an extra textile layer over a part of the bed.

130x180 cm provides additional length and is particularly suitable when the throw is used on the sofa or draped over the foot of a bed. The size you choose therefore primarily depends on how and where the throw will be used.

Where can you use a throw?

A throw can be used in several ways in the home. In the living room, it functions as a warming layer on the sofa or armchair, while in the bedroom, it can be placed over the foot of the bed or used as an extra layer on top of the bedding.

During warmer months, a cotton throw can also be taken out to a sheltered patio or balcony on dry days. A wool throw is primarily at its best when the temperature drops and you want a warmer and more cozy textile close at hand.

How do you care for a throw?

Care depends on the material. Wool rarely needs frequent washing and benefits from regular airing. In case of stains, spills should be dealt with immediately and the wool treated gently. Our wool throws should not be machine washed unless otherwise stated in the product's care instructions.

Many of our cotton throws can be machine washed, but the temperature and wash cycle may vary between different models. Always follow the washing instructions on the individual product.
