What sizes are available for cushion covers?
Our cushion covers are primarily available in 50x50 cm and 40x60 cm, two sizes that suit most sofas, armchairs, and beds. The 50x50 cm is the classic square size and a good starting point when you want to combine several cushions. The 40x60 cm has an elongated shape that works well in front of larger, square cushions on the sofa or bed, and also provides support in a deep armchair.
Some models are sold as complete decorative cushions with an inner cushion, while others are sold as separate cushion covers. For a 50x50 cm cushion cover, choose a 50x50 cm inner cushion, and for a 40x60 cm, choose a 40x60 cm inner cushion. For a fuller look, the filling also plays a significant role: a pliant feather filling shapes softly and fills out the corners, while synthetic provides a more even and firm feel.
Which material should you choose?
Velvet has a dense, soft surface with a depth that changes with the light. Our velvet cushions are made from cotton velvet and are suitable for those seeking a smooth, rich texture. Velvet should be handled with care, and several of our models are recommended for dry cleaning.
Cotton is durable and soft and is used in both plain, hand-printed, and more structured cushion covers. Washing instructions vary depending on technique and details; some models can be hand-washed while others should be dry cleaned.
Linen has a drier, naturally irregular structure. In our Classic Linen collection, linen and cotton are combined for a softer quality with linen's characteristic structure. Classic Linen can be fine-washed at 30 °C according to the product's care instructions.
Wool provides a soft and tactile surface and is mainly used where the structure is meant to be a clear part of the design. Wool is naturally durable but requires gentler care than many cotton qualities. Always follow the washing instructions for the individual product.
How do you wash cushion covers?
Always remove the inner cushion before washing and follow the washing instructions on the product label. Material, dyeing, hand printing, applications, and other details mean that two cushion covers made of the same fiber material may require different care. Treat stains gently and avoid strong cleaning agents unless otherwise specified. See our care instructions for more guidance.
What rooms and furniture are cushion covers suitable for?
Cushion covers in 50x50 cm and 40x60 cm work well in the living room, bedroom, and reading nook. On the sofa, square and elongated formats can be combined for variation in proportions, while a few cushions on the bed can tie colors and materials together with other textiles. An elongated cushion cover also works well in a reading armchair.
During the summer, cushions can also be used on a sheltered patio or deck on dry days. Bring them indoors after use and avoid prolonged exposure to moisture and strong sunlight if the product is not intended for outdoor use.
